Acreage is a different job to a house lawn, and it needs different machinery. Out through Strathdickie, Cannon Valley, Proserpine and the rural pockets behind Cannonvale we're mowing house paddocks, cutting fire breaks, keeping driveways and fence lines clear, and knocking back grass that's gone well past what a domestic mower will touch.
Wet season growth on open rural ground is relentless. A paddock that looked fine in November can be waist-high by late January, and by then it's no longer a mowing job — it's a slashing job that needs the tractor. We match the machine to the state of the block so we're not making three passes at something that should take one.
We also work around what's actually on the property: tanks, troughs, stumps, ant beds, table drains and washouts. Knowing where the hazards are before the first pass is what keeps the job quick and the gear in one piece.
How much does acreage mowing cost?
Every job is quoted individually and the quote is free.
Area is the obvious driver, but the state of the growth matters just as much — tall, thick grass means a slower cut.
Terrain and access come next: slopes, gullies, drains and obstacles all reduce how much ground we cover per hour.

How overgrown is too overgrown?
Almost nothing is too far gone — if a mower can't handle it, the tractor slasher will. We'll tell you upfront if we think it needs two passes.
Can you cut fire breaks before the season?
Yes, and it's worth booking early because everyone wants them at the same time. We'll cut breaks and keep access tracks clear.
How often should acreage be cut?
Most rural clients go monthly through the wet and stretch out to every couple of months in the dry. It depends on how tidy you want it kept.
Do I need to mark hazards on the property?
It helps a lot — stumps, pipes, sprinkler heads and star pickets are the usual culprits. Jesse walks the block with you at quote time.
