Lawn Mowing in Shute Harbour
MowMaster Whitsundays — owned and operated by Jesse Askew. Free quotes, no lock-in contracts.
Shute Harbour is a small, tightly held pocket right on the water, and the yards reflect that — fewer properties, but almost all of them dealing with real coastal conditions. Salt-laden wind straight off the harbour burns exposed turf, and grass close to the waterline is under constant stress even when it's getting plenty of moisture.
The practical answer is cut height. We leave a little more leaf on salt-exposed lawns so the turf can shade its own roots and recover between cuts, rather than scalping it and watching it brown off. On the sheltered side of a house the same lawn can take a shorter cut, so we don't treat the whole block the same.
A good share of homes here are second properties or holiday houses that sit empty for stretches, so we run a steady rotation that keeps the place looking lived-in and stops the wet season getting a head start. Steep driveways and narrow access are common, and we plan the visit around them.
How much does lawn mowing cost in Shute Harbour?
Every job is quoted individually and the quote is free.
Size of the lawn is the first thing, but access has a real say out here — steep drives and tight approaches slow a job down.
How long it's been since the last cut matters most on holiday homes that have sat unattended for a while.
Then it's whether edging and whipper snipping are included, and whether clippings leave with us.
Jesse comes out, looks at the block and gives you a firm price before anything starts — no obligation either way. Call him on 0422 643 936.
Frequently asked questions
Can you maintain a property while I'm not living there?
Yes — that's a lot of what we do at Shute Harbour. We keep an ongoing rotation and let you know if anything at the property needs attention.
Does salt exposure change how you mow?
It does, we leave the grass slightly longer on exposed sections so it holds up better. Scalping a salt-stressed lawn is the fastest way to lose it.
How much notice do you need to start?
Usually about a week to get you into the round. Ongoing clients keep the same slot each rotation.
Do you also clear leaf litter and green waste?
Yes, we can clear and remove it as part of the visit. It's quoted with the job rather than charged as a surprise.
